Choose the model and effort for a message

Every message can use a different agent, model and effort level. The controls sit under the message box.

Choose the agent and model

Select the agent menu (for example Claude Opus 5.5) and choose the agent and model you want. Your choice applies to the next message you send.

Choose the effort

Select one of the effort buttons next to the agent menu:

• Low for quick fixes and simple questions
• Med for everyday work
• High and xHigh for harder problems
• Max for the trickiest work, when you don’t mind waiting longer

Higher effort usually uses more of your plan’s usage.

Save a setup as a preset

If you often use the same agent, model, effort and permissions together, save them as a preset and switch back to it in a click.
